Sitings / Sightings (2002)
is a multi-media site-specific work which explores the relationship
between sight and context (via site) and the subsequent relationship
between what we see and thereby assume to “know” as
“real”. Altering the site in ways not clearly obvious
to the viewer, Sitings / Sightings explores how our perceptions
of what is “real” may be altered by any shift in context.
The role of language in naming what is “real” is also
explored through the altered window landscape in rear-projected
video “sightings” which are “unnameable”.
