Oracle (anticipating Delphi) employs air ducting, plumbing and electrical fixtures in a gesture which playfully harnesses these forces of nature so inextricably linked to technology, information and, thereby, our futures. Elements of this piece are attached directly to dysfunctional sprinkler pipes and electrical boxes alluding to the mixing of these power sources which sustain our lives. The discovery of bare feet moving in and out of view across three small screens of video monitors engages the viewer as a participant in this pursuit of “the oracle” - a timeless infatuation with knowledge, information and the future.
